Titan Cloud is the industry-leading fuel asset optimisation platform used by major enterprise fuel operators. By 2021, twenty years of feature accumulation had made the product nearly impossible to use. TWD Studios redesigned all 11 modules over three years, incrementally, without disrupting an established user base, and delivered measurable improvements in user satisfaction, support volume, and development efficiency.

The Challenge

Two decades of feature additions with no governing design systems will turn a capable product into a barrier. Navigation had grown into a labyrinth. UI required training to use basic functions. Experienced users had developed workarounds. Visual language was dated. No consistent design language across 11 modules. And the user base, fuel station managers and administrators at the laggard end of the technology adoption curve, was resistant to change. This was enterprise UX at its most constrained.

Strategy

Prove the direction with the smallest high-impact change, build internal confidence, then scale systematically. Start with the navigation bar. Test with internal users. Establish the atomic design system before redesigning a single module. Redesign one module at a time, feeding directly into development sprints. Deploy progressively, not in a big release.

Atomic Design System

Built before any module redesign began. Figma component library from atoms to pages, governing every screen across all 11 modules. Two versioned systems produced: 2022 brand and 2023 brand. When the 2023 rebrand required a colour and style refresh, master component updates propagated across the entire product. Compounding efficiency gain measured at 24 percent faster development time by 2024. This is what a properly built design system delivers for enterprise UX.

Results

72 percent increase in user satisfaction across 247 users surveyed following Phase 1 deployment. 86 percent stakeholder satisfaction with new interfaces. 24 percent reduction in development time by 2024. 18 percent drop in customer support requests, direct result of reduced UI confusion. 4,000 plus screens redesigned across 11 modules. 8 of 11 modules live and deployed. Two corporate rebrands absorbed without product disruption. Three years. Eleven modules. A user base resistant to change. This is what systematic, evidence-led enterprise UX produces.
