Kaarvi is an end-to-end data management SaaS platform with a robust engineering backend and no design layer. TWD Studios embedded as their dedicated design function, beginning with a five-month product design sprint and expanding into branding, website, and ongoing marketing support.

The Challenge

A technically capable product with no interface is not a product. Kaarvi had built a sophisticated backend across nine interdependent modules. Non-technical users had no realistic path to operating the platform. There was no SaaS UX design, no visual system, and no product design to speak of. The engineering was there. The design was not.

product experience, we structured the engagement around a five-month foundational sprint. All nine modules were designed end to end, from discovery through wireframes and high-fidelity UI. MUI was adopted as the core design framework, appropriate for a React frontend, and customised to Kaarvi's visual identity. KendoReact handled data-heavy grid interfaces.

A scalable design system was built to grow with the product, not assembled screen by screen. When branding and the marketing website followed, they were built on a resolved visual language, ensuring coherence across every surface.

Design System

The design system built on MUI and KendoReact gives Kaarvi's engineering team a component library they can draw from directly. Developer-ready UI kits, annotated interaction prototypes, design tokens, spacing, typography, and colour all documented. New features have a design language to pull from without requiring a redesign.
